I’m An Uncle

March 08th, 2006 | Category: Chunder

As of 0412 hrs this morning, I’m the uncle of a bouncing healthy baby boy: Wesley. Congratulations Teddy and Brenda. Once they let us into the hospital I look forward to getting to take a look at the family’s newest piece of the future.

It’s looking to be a good vacation.

Train of Music

March 05th, 2006 | Category: Chunder

I think I need more than one Entry a month to check certain other features of Wordpress, so I’m going to post the albums I’ve played this shift:

  • Pink Floyd, The Wall discs 1 and 2: A cheap excuse to hear “Comfortably Numb” with all the surrounding emotion. Except for “Another Brick in the Wall (Part 3?)” I can’t even name another song on the album.
  • The Best of Rob Zombie: Might be Brad’s mix tape with a fancy label. It was the dead of morning on a Sunday and I had a chance to play something loud and offensive.
  • Queens of the Stone Age, Lullabies to Paralyze: The only QotSA readily available, otherwise it would have been whatever the album I bought with “Go With the Flow” on it is.
  • The Cardigans, Gran Turismo: Cutting right to Sarah McLachlan from QotSA didn’t seem right, so I used the Cardigans for their female lead.
  • Sarah McLachlan, Afterglow: By the time I’m this tired, I prefer to listen to stuff that’s more mellow and meditative. Mental note: get “Fumbling Toward Ecstacy” and “Solace” to work.

Morcheeba and Coldplay are on the table for later, and I bought “OK Computer” by Radiohead only recently and might toss that on after Meal-3.

Calming Down

March 04th, 2006 | Category: Chunder

I like to think I take things easy; Probably a little too easy, as I just let things slide until they’re so piled up I just can’t be bothered to fix it until it becomes stressful. I take baby steps to fixing this every few months as I realise something I had to force myself to do regularly has become habit. It’s little things like dishes, bill payments, savings, cleaning, etc.

It occured to me today, with this rather (knock, knock) quiet shift, I found it therapeutic to regularly just throw a rant in my bLog. Lacking certain tools, I can’t do much for the look of the site from here, so I’ll make do. This is a simple enough look for now for a simple webpage programmer like me. I leave the fancy stuff to Erik.
